DiNapoli Plaza Police Memorial

About

Holyoke Heritage State Park – Holyoke, MA

2003

John DiNapoli was a 22-year veteran of the Holyoke Police Force when he was shot and killed while following a suspect in 1999. During his career as an officer, John always gave back to the community and was well-known and liked by many. He is remembered here in bronze and shown with two children. The sculpture, located at Holyoke Heritage State Park, is a tribute to Officer DiNapoli as well as to Officers John Driscoll and James Gatzounas who also gave their lives in the line of duty. The granite is adorned with a bronze police badge, a bronze city seal, and inscriptions. Events and memorials are held at the site.
